Which Firewood Do I Need?

Firewood for a wood burning stove
Manufacturers recommend a maximum of 20% moisture content, but up to 25% moisture content is what the HETAS quality standard recommends. It is essential that you use dry firewood in your stove or oven to improve its life it will prevent blackening of the stove glass or build-up of soot or tar in the chimney or flue and ensure a clean burn and an efficient stove, you will actually use far less firewood, so more cost effective. We recommend Premium Wood Stove Mix

Firewood for open fires
We recommend Premium Hardwood Firewood

Can I Burn Straightaway?
Our logs have been dried for low moisture content and are ready to burn, so all you need to do is just ensure they are stored in a cool dry place, either in a log store or garage.

What Size our the logs?

Our Premium Stove Mix Logs
are cut to a length of 20-25 cm/8-10 inches, and the diameter of our standard logs are 5-20cm / 2-8 inches measured at the widest point of the log.   This provides smaller logs to build a good base to the fire and larger ones for a longer burn.
Our sizes ensure they will fit in 99% of UK stoves.

Our Premium Hardwood Logs
are cut to the same dimensions as the premium stove mix but we can cut to larger specification for larger  fires or stoves. Please ring or email to discuss your requirements
